Firefighting specials highly resistant to corrosion (United Arab Emirates)
Umm Lulu field is an offshore oil project, developed by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) 30km from the city’s coast. The Phase II installation is vast, with six new wellhead towers and a super complex (with multiple platforms). To ensure continued safe operations, they came to us for effective fire protection.

6 towers and 6 bridge-linked platforms
With six wellhead towers and a complex featuring six bridge-linked platforms (including an accommodation platform and two flare platforms), the scale of the new operations was huge. ADNOC needed a partner who could confidently provide firefighting supplies on this scale. And with its offshore location, the hydrants needed to be resistant to corrosion from seawater.
Our Approach
We supplied 88 gunmetal fire hydrants to the project, in a configuration similar to a previous project at the Al-Nasr oil field.
ADNOC knew they could trust us, and were pleased with our decision to supply two-way fire hydrants manufactured from Bronze/Gunmetal CC491-GS, a material highly resistant to corrosion in seawater. Each hydrant outlet was fitted with a Knowsley FM approved Hose-safe Series Pressure Reducing Valve too.

88 fire hydrants
All 88 fire hydrants were supplied to the project on time and to the highest specifications.
ADNOC was entirely satisfied with their choice of supplier, and Phase II could get underway with the knowledge that fire safety was taken care of.
